Bays

1920-1940



It can be clearly seen from the buildings of the 1930s (the Nordic “funkis” period) that bays are suspended on projecting sections of the storey partitions. No additional supporting elements are apparent.

The structure shown in the figure to right is typical.

It is also a common practice in the buildings of this period to integrate bays and balconies, as is shown in the figure.
