Roof/facade

1940-1960

In buildings with storey partitions of hollow block or concrete, the roof frame is constructed as it was prior to the Nordic “funkis” period. But there is not the same dependency on the top floor structure, and anchoring is performed with embedded bolts.

Whatever remained of the decorative facade elements (including cornices) disappeared from residential buildings with the arrival of the functionalist style of 'funkis'.
